PRESS RELEASE

The latest meeting of Morton & Hanthorpe Parish Council was held in the Church Hall, Morton on Tuesday 9th December.

Chairman David Creasey welcomed Inspector Stewart, Stamford and Bourne Sector, to the meeting. Inspector Stewart gave councillors a summary of the way the police were working with local communities by using neighbourhood panels to identify local problems.
PCSO Doe told the meeting that he had been manning a portable speed detector in Morton High Street during the day. Ten per cent of drivers were found to be travelling over 30mph.

During the public forum a resident of Edenham Road, Hanthorpe put forward complaints about vehicles having difficulty passing each other near his property. His wall had recently been damaged by a vehicle. He was hoping that the Lincolnshire Highways could be persuaded to provide a passing place at the point in question.

Dog fouling had again been reported in Hanthorpe Road and the High Street. The Clerk had reported the matter to the District Council and arranged for visits by the enforcement ranger.

SKDC has given approval to applications from: Mr. D. Cope for an extension to 3, Templemeads Close,
Mr. M. Hempstead for the demolition of an outbuilding and erection of rear & side extensions & porch, and Mr. M. Durrant, outline planning , for the erection of bungalow & garage, rear of 8, Ford Lane.

One planning application had to be dealt with by consultation due to time requirements:
Mrs. M. Pridmore to erect a brick built garage to replace the present pre-cast structure at 19, Millfield Road. There were no objections.

Councillor Shaun Reynolds was appointed as the fourth council representative on the Joint Playing Field Committee.
The Council agreed to contact the Land Agents for Lincolnshire County Council to ask whether the Parish Council could rent a piece of land at the end of East Lane for allotments.

The Council also resolved to adopt the Freedom of Information Scheme in order to conform with the Freedom of Information Act. A Guide of information available from the Council will also be produced.

The next meeting of the Parish Council is on Tuesday 20th January 2009 and will begin with a Public Forum at 7.15pm.

Terry Barnatt.
Clerk & R.F.O. Morton & Hanthorpe Parish Council.
