| | Morton and Hanthorpe Village Show | The Morton & Hanthorpe Village Show is held annually.
Preparation for the 2012 show is now in process Date 1st September 2012
The Show Schedule and entry forms will be delivered to every household in Morton & Hanthorpe.
Entries are accepted from anyone living in the parish of Morton & Hanthorpe including bono fide members of any of the village organisations.
The Show is held in the Village Hall and gives an opportunity for all members of the village and respective village organisations to exhibit their skills.
There are 7 Categories to enter. Each Category having several class entries. Floral, Vegetables & Fruit, Cookery & Preserves, Adult handicraft, Art, Photography and finally Young Persons Classes. The Young person's section is always well supported, with a display of paintings and handwriting by pupils at Morton School. | | | Show Rules: All exhibits for the show must have been grown or produced, owned and be the original work of the exhibitor. Exceptions to this rule when applicable, will be printed in the respective Divisions in the current Show Schedule. All specifications as outlined in the exhibit classes of the Show Schedule will be strictly adhered to. All exhibits to be entered on official entry forms available with the Schedule, Post Office, Show Organisers, or can be downloaded from the website. Show entry forms, together with the respective class fee's to be returned to Sharon Butterworth, 25 Larks Rise Morton, by 8pm on Thursday 30th August 2012 Closing date and time will be strictly adhered to. Staging will take place between 9am and 10.45am on the morning of the Show in the Village Hall. Exhibits may NOT be removed before 4pm. Judging will take place from 11am. During Judging only the Show administrator and Stewards will be allowed in the Hall. Certificates are awarded for 1st; 2nd; and 3rd places in each class, and prize monies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placed in each adult class. An Award certificate is given for best entry in each category. The Judges decision is final.
Cakes and produce donated by exhibitors will be auctioned after the presentation of the awards prior to the drawing of the raffle. All proceeds raised go towards next years Village show. | | |
