| Morton & Hanthorpe Village Show September 2009 | "The Morton & Hanthorpe Village Show was another resounding success and the the villagers are to be congratulated on entering in large numbers. There were more than 300 class entries, a new record, in addition to the excellent display of paintings and greetings cards produced by Morton School and when they were all in place the Village Hall was a wonderful burst of colour with items ranging from superb produce to excellent paintings. The talent in the villages never fails to surprise the organisers. most encouraging being that the entries cover a wide age range which bodes well for the future of the show. Lots of people came in during the day and the money spent on the raffle, auction and refreshments ensured that there are sufficient funds for next year's event. Special mention must be made of our judges who give their time freely to support the event and perform what is becoming an increasingly difficult task such is the talent on display. We are also very grateful for the support of the Morton Town Lands charity for their regular support in funding the hire cost of the Village Hall. All in all a very good day."
